sLiDeR Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Just wondering who has made the move between the 2 & what probs/differences I should be aware off??
kmount Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 We use both. T4 for cover and every day printing of timetables etc. T6 for modelling and construction. I don't profess to knowing much about SIMS/Nova but my understanding is you need both?
jcollings Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 We've just gone T6 - it's ok. No real pitfalls. Cover 7 is out as part of .net so you can effectively ditch T4. We will be doing in September all being well. You can print timetables etc from .net The only thing I would say is that a lot of the quick reports - class lists etc which are quick to get from T4 are faffier (I think I made that word up) in .net Would be good to see some of that replicated.
jcollings Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Don't think we've started using Cover 7 yet... We're only just going to play with it. Looks good though as it puts cover lessons on the teachers timeline so they can easily take registers etc.
Sylv3r Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 We use both here also, eventually T4 will be phased out and only T6 will be in use. We are also interested in looking at Cover 7 also. From what i've heard and seen it looks good.
KirstyH Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 There are still loads of reports and printouts in T4 that can't currently be matched for ease of use in .net or T6, so T4 still has its uses.
