davepettymcp Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Hi Last year our college asked the kind folks from this forum for any faulty laptops to use in our Cisco IT Essentials class to make the class more interesting for our students, giving them lots more experience than that of normal pc's. This was a huge success and a massive benifit to our college. This year I have managed to gain a bit of funding so instead of asking for free faulty laptops we are now asking for any faulty laptops and we will pay a bit of cash for your troubles (although it wont be a vast amount) or you can still donate for free. We hope this can both benifit our college and yours for this year and hopefully the next. Many thanks in advance and a special thanks to everyone who helped out last year
contink Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Definitely got one for you again Dave and possibly one or two others... Bug me about it though or else I'll forget... Memory like a sieve at the moment...
kmount Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Define faulty? We've got some with broken screens, failed hdd's, and some just generally old but work OK if they had memory/hdd's in them.

Sylv3r Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 @ davepettymcp: I promised to package them up for you last year but never got round to it (sorry). I will dig some out for you this week. As has been mentioned does it matter on the spec, condition, manufacturer etc?
mant01 Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Dave, we definately have quite a few broken laptops and also about 25 laptops that really are toooo slow for useage (old NEC with 256 RAM and designed for windows 98). I need to check with our newly appointed business manager first (she starts a week tomorrow) but if she is ok then I will happily pass them on to you.
davepettymcp Posted June 16, 2008 Author Posted June 16, 2008 Thanks again for all your reply's spec and age of laptops does not matter.
