Hi

We only setup Teams for the first time during the pandemic last August, and we are not sure what is the best way to ‘roll over’ all of the current Teams in September?

We use SIMS for our MIS, and apparently the class codes stay the same (if that makes sense).

Just wondered how other schools deal with the year groups all moving up, and of course the new Year 7’s.

We did think about the teaching staff just deleting the students from their Teams, and then just adding the new students at the start of the academic year, but that might not be welcome!

Thanks

We use Cloud Design Box with Salamander to rollover and recreate the new Teams from all the timetabled classes. The old Teams are archived but still accessible. Permanent resources are kept in the departmental Teams which do not expire.

if you are using SDS then there is a roll over procedure. this will re-name all current teams (expire) and create new teams with the same names. Move all the new pupils to the new teams and set read only permissions to the now renamed expired teams so pupils can access old work.

We just ask teachers to setup new teams themselves with the year at the start of the team name. This allows them to keep old teams or start afresh.

We used to use SDS to rollover but it got crazy complicated with multi year subjects.

We do create distribution lists for all classes with salamandersoft to make it easy for staff to setup new teams.
