Adobe CC pricing

We've been asked to setup Adobe CC (mainly Premiere/After Effects) for a small group of students - the pricing seems ridiculous to me, for 10 students its £3400 using the per user per year option, or £2800 per device per year. You'd be better off going to the per user licencing. We pay less than £4 per year per user.

I think it's cheaper for education than that...

But we direct people to photopea.com normally for Photoshop alternatives.

Hmm I'm just used Adobes Education pricing and its £29.49 per user for all apps, or £12.64 per app per user (all per month!) and £278 per annum for each device for all apps. You'd be better off going to the per user licencing. We pay less than £4 per year per user.

Where have you managed to find less than £4? We're just about to renew and have only found £4.08 so far.

We go via a reseller and also pay roughly £4 a user! We use Academia, never had issues with them

From Adobe's website, I get £16.24 per month (price includes VAT) per student / teacher user (that's for individually purchased licenses), so £1,950 per year for 10 users. However, I think starting at 10 users you can get lower prices through a reseller - I think we got a quote for around £185 per user per year for 10 users, so £1,850. At some minimum number of users (is it 500?) you can get the £4-ish-per-user schools pricing through a reseller - it might well be cheaper to just license the whole school, and I think for named-user licensing the pupils can install Creative Cloud at home, too.

Yeah I'm thinking along those lines as well, we may as well license the whole school or at least sixth form and get a better deal

Give Pugh or Academia a call, ask to speak to someone about the Adobe K12 license program, there is a minimum purchase of either 250 or 500 but even at 500 it only comes to just over £2k.

ah yes sorry we licence the whole of KS3 and then only pupils who need it in KS4 & 5.

The licence quote says 100+ so you might get away with 100.

Simon Keeble at Pugh, he's done my Adobe licensing for 5 years now.

 

I pay £6k per year for 290 device installs.

 

Personally I can't stand Adobe and think it's a ripoff compared to what the school actually use it for but it was pushed through from above and I'll never get them off it now.

 

For sixth form onwards where trained Adobe teachers are teaching it then sure, but the work I see coming out of it in KS3/4 makes me cringe.

 

Its just a name like Apple that comes at a heavy cost.

I'm hoping that DaVinci Resolve might do all they need for free, but licensing more that the 15 or so required seems to make more financial sense

Not exactly Adobe Creative Cloud, but I've just got an email through from Adobe saying that their free Adobe Spark for Education plan will include Adobe Photoshop Express and Adobe Premiere Rush from next month. I think that means you can get Photoshop / Premier (basic versions, but there's a good chance a lot of teachers would be fine with those) free over the whole school and, possibly, for home use as well.

I pay just shy of £1,900 per year for 85 shared device licenses (so about £21 per machine). This basically covers 2 full IT suites and a selection of office staff who need the full functionality or things like Acrobat. I'd like to do shared account licensing, but if I covered everyone (about 1,600 people) I'd be looking at £6+ per year which I simply can't afford

500 named licenses, allows user to be logged into two devices at once, install on personal devices too. Less than 3k.

 

Deployed the creative cloud desktop app through sccm to everything, gave every student a license. Job done

 

Syncs with azure and licenses based on group membership but needed an Azure A1 license, picked that up for ~£500.

 

We heavily push BYOD to our students so named licenses are the way to go for us

enquire if you are eligible for "K-12 SCHOOL SITE" it is about £23 per year per device for shared device model. Minimum seat of 25. You get the full CC, you will need to set up azure AD sync and login for each user.
