Learn Linux Community

OK, so I'm starting to get into Linux and wondered if there was an online community with chat rooms and such so I can talk to experts and beginners alike to boost my learning.

 

Any ideas?

You and me both. I've got Ubuntu LAMP Server running on a VM. My goal is to get Moodle running on it so I can experiment with it. Right now I'm just staring at a flashing prompt wondering where to start.

 

There's a lot out there if you can spend time searching for it, but it's not in one convenient place.

 

There's quite a few people here who would help.

Generally posting here works. Additionally there's a 'linux' chat room on the edugeek chat server.

Yeah - I know the EduGeek tries hard, but I was looking for a real specialised community. Maybe something with plenty of tutorials for all levels of users, with nice little projects and such. Maybe a forum and a chat room.

Thanks webman, but I'm sure we're understanding.

 

I can find tutorials if I look. It's the everything under one roof, much like this site does. All tutorials and example projects for students to try under one roof. A site with some Linux guru's (some of you perhaps) that can answer your questions within seconds. A site with a massive group of beginners who all learn together.

 

Just like and EduGeek, but dedicated to Linux. That's what I'm looking for. It might not exist, but it would be brill if it did!

You may want to consider buying some O'Reily books. They might suit what you want better?
