Any suggestions for online 'pencil' animation apps for KS1/Lower KS2?

Hi all,

 

we've been using 2Simple's 2Animate for basic animation projects in Year 2 and 3. It does the job but I'm looking for something similar which is based online so that I can use it on our Chromebooks.

Year 2 usually do animations of Tudor houses burning down to tie in with their Great Fire of London topic.

I've had a look but what I've found so far is a bit too complicated for the little'uns!

 

Any suggestions?

Thanks TechMonkey. The ICT Coordinator is having a look at Purple Mash for next year so that might be an answer. I am not sure we are going to be able to afford it though, budgets being what they are. So having a scour for a freebie...

Purplemash is extremely popular with staff here, extensively used during lockdown, really good value for what it offers. I appreciate that doesn't help if your budget is zero!

Another recommendation for purple mash here. The price put people off a bit first time round, but it was never questioned at renewal.

 

They always used to offer a free month with full functionality as a trial. Maybe start a trial to align with the start of your project.

 

I've used it to draw Tudor houses with year 1 and 2 pupils on Chromebooks [emoji23]I think there's even a built in template! Also a whole list of great for of London curriculum activities.

Thanks for all the Purple Mash recommendations. I've always been a bit anti those kind of suites, particularly when I end up teaching the lessons myself. But, the Computingcoordinator is keen on teachers taking more responsibility for their own IT teaching, and I guess PM would definitely help with that.
