Do I need to allow MS Teams through client firewall?

Our external firewall is controlled by our LA but just to add an extra layer I have decided to enable the local client firewalls using GPO.

 

The client firewalls will not be crazy locked down but just a barier should someone get access to one laptop in the school.

 

Before I turn on the firewall, do I need to allow Teams through the firewall? If so do I just allow the following as an outgoing rule?

 

Ports UDP ports 3478 through 3481IP addresses 13.107.64.0/18, 52.112.0.0/14, and 52.120.0.0/14

I wouldn't think you'd need to open ports external on client. I've known occasionally the local firewall to block ping once or twice.

 

Also maybe locking down the servers which can be done via GPO would be quite ideal.

I started with the DC, so that is already done, wanted to get clients done next and then finally the SIMS server.

 

Files are all cloud based :-)
