Just following Schoolsbroadband provided documentation for setting up and publishing netsweeper chrome extension.

So I can have netsweeper filtering on some Chromebooks at a school.

Any one else successfully completed this process/guide?

Got to the point of needing to access the chrome webstore developer dashboard, but to continue I need to pay a registration fee.

Checked with SBB support and was told I need to pay the fee.

My main concern is that I've had SBB's chromebook netsweeper extension setup in the past from SBB (a different support engineer) for another school and didn't need to pay this fee.

Got this request to get it setup across a few different schools so want to be sure I'm doing it correctly.

Don't want to get approval to pay the fee and find out I didn't actually need it.

And from what I understand there should be a way to bypass the need to pay a fee if I am just publishing private apps to my organisation only

Having the same issues here.

Clicked to pay but then informed that my admin ac (any admin it seems) does not have the right to do this.

The instructions SBB sent me are clear as mud.

Have had a call open with them for weeks, even got our dfeppp guy looking into this and SBB don't seem to be talking to him either.

At least they are filtered as student devices but this doesn't help if we need to track who triggered the alerts.

Good thing we have not deployed the Chromebooks yet.

Had to pay the fee in the end, was told that I must have have had this setup at a different school before the fee was compulsory to avoid payment previously.

I had to temporarily enable google payment service for the admin user that will be accessing the developer dashboard

Which allowed me to then pay the fee via credit card

SBB Support took over to complete the setup, there are lots of steps required beyond the guide, as successfully publishing the extension to the organisation is only one aspect.

Needed creation of new google groups that are then synced up to netsweeper

So you end up with new extra filtering groups

Also discovered that the filtering doesn’t work offsite so that has changed my plans for these devices. They appear to have no offsite filtering capability which was a real surprise

Our local authority provides schools a smoothwall on-premise solution, with added access to smoothwall cloud which they suggest did filter chrombooks on and offsite

Thought netsweeper would just be the same

Their solution doesn't allow you to create logs for Chromebook users either. I've had a call open with them since November 2020, regarding a Prevent issue which they still haven't resolved!
