RIP Sabine Schmitz

I particularly liked her goading Clarkson on his laptime in a Jag "I could go around (Nordshliefe) faster in a van" and she so nearly did.

Just saw this on the bbc. Sad loss.

 

She was completely bonkers and wonderfully talented.

 

This sunday's episode of Top Gear will be dedicated to her it seems.

Stayed at her ranch in Barweiler near the ring with my bother in law a few years ago, he knew her very well, she told us to get stuck into the bar and just make a note of what we had, she be back at 10pm after she got back from filming with Top Gear in Scotland that day. She got back and had a few beers with us and told us about her day, such a down to earth lady, no hairs or graces, a funny gal too. She cooked us breakfast in the morning which might seem odd to people, but actually it felt so normal thats what she did. She was genuinely interested in my job and working with children, and then gave us a tour of her house being built next door, packed us of with a case of beers for when we arrived home too. A great experience and so sad that she passed so young, a superstar to many but so down to earth. RIP Sabine

Watching it tomorrow, heard lots of good things about it
