I have a Windows 2019 Server acting as both WDS and MDT and we've been successfully rolling out Windows 10 out this way, firstly LTSB 1607 and more recently 1909.

A while back I tried to update our task sequence so we could deploy 20H2 and I ran in to nothing but issues.

Now I've got a bit of time I'd like to solve the issue and get a working WDS / MDT deployment for 20H2.

Is it possible to keep my existing setup running so the technicians can keep imaging new machines at the same time I deploy and test a new setup?

Can the same network have multiple WDS / MDT Servers?

This is the thread with the original issue in it : http://www.edugeek.net/forums/o-s-deployment/219226-how-copy-task-sequence.html

I'm trying, obviously, to mess up a working system whilst at the same time trying to get a 20H2 deployment working!

Any thoughts, tips or advice welcome.

Ensure to update WADK

You can add 20H2 into existing Operating System folder and go into edit Task Sequence and change the Install OS to reflect OS version you want to use. Don't forget to update the deployment share and replace the old boot file with a new boot file within WDS.

Another option is to create a new Deployment Share and add the new boot file into WDS. Don't forget to rename the boot file to differentiate different versions of boot file.
