DonateALaptop.co.uk - anyone heard of them?

I've just had a member of the public email me directly, offering me two laptops, having got my details from donatealaptop.co.uk

 

Has anyone heard of this before? I 100% have not given my details to anyone for any sort of site like this. I was thinking maybe our Receptionist did, but then there's a whole - completely made up - spiel they've posted as if I've specifically begged for stuff:

 

We want to ensure that all of our children can access learning online. The Government laptop scheme as welcome as it’s been doesn’t touch the sides.

 

Utter bollocks. In fact, we've got 30-odd laptops left over from the DfE scheme as the parents "don't want the responsibility" of being issued them.

 

I'm getting in touch with them to ask them where they got my details and to remove us from their site. Random.

Could this be from the DfE device program? When you login now you can sign up to say you are looking for device donations. Someone with access to your school account could have completed that form. Edited March 12, 2021 by IT_JB
