DFE supplied laptops

Good morning,

 

We provide IT support to a few UK primary schools.

 

The school that I am currently working in has received several of the DFE 'pre-built' laptops. In this case, they are Geobook 1E.

 

Unable to do anything we these, not even adding them to the school network, proxy, certificate etc. as we don't have any Admin rights to the PC.

 

Does anyone know the Admin account and password for these machines ? Failing that, is there any sort of support/contact available for them ?

If you contact the person who organised the laptops to be sent to school, Their contact at the DofE should be able to set you up a login to their website that will contain all the details about the laptops including bios passwords etc.

If you are not the named contact for the school/MAT, you can get the bios and admin passwords via the portal.

If you are not, then you need to request that who ever is the named contact for the Academy does that.

 

If the devices have been provided via the LA to the school, then they are for specific students so should be provided as is (so do not need adding to your networks)

If you contact the DfE via the person who placed the order you can get a list of all the local admin passwords.

I have provided the DFE advice re Admin rights to the school, who will request access.
