Senior School Support Engineer – work from home and site support (M25/M4/M1)

Great opportunity for a technically skilled Senior Engineer to work for an expanding Group of IT companies continually making new acquisitions, so there is lots of opportunity for fast progression (especially if you are looking for an upstream career journey) and for working with a great team around you.

We are looking for a Leader though, not just a skilled engineer.

· Full time role working from home with some UK travel to support mainly schools, but some SME work required. The ideal location would be M4 / M25 to M1 / M25 with quick access to both London and the Midlands

· Negotiable Salary up to £55k depending on skills and experience + Private Pension/Vitality Private Healthcare

· Must have own car and full UK driving licence (expenses fully reimbursed)

· Must be prepared to take and pass an extended DBS check as attendance on school sites is required

Qualifications and experience required

We are looking for a good mix and combination of the following

· Server expert (including MS clustering specifically, RDS servers)

· Cisco networking

· Firewalls of any flavour

· Azure, AD and backup technologies such as Veeam and Acronis

· Must be good at mentoring and developing junior staff

· Must be a ‘knowledge sharer’ and be passionate about documentation

· Ideally from an MSP background (an Education MSP is preferred)

· Knowledge of school infrastructure / networks

Person Spec

· Tenacious and enthusiastic with excellent attention to detail

· Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised

· Proactive, looking to improve/streamline/automate processes

· Able to work to deadlines and prioritise accordingly

· Team/group focused

· Ability to communicate effectively and at the appropriate level with non-IT literate co-workers and customers

· Generally, a nice hardworking person with a sense of humour
