New Car

You can't say you have a new car and then not say what it is!

 

So my first car failed it MOT last month. Nothing too drastic, it would have been possible to look at my self - rear brakes, exhaust leak, anti-roll bar dust seal split.

But due to the time of year and half heartedly looking at replacing it, decided it was time to get rid and look for new one. Rolling around the floor whilst its -27364 degrees isn't something I was looking forward to.

 

A week of flicking through AutoTrader, with just a distance and price set saw the DS3s. Yep ticks all the boxes, four wheels, goes vrrrm vrm and doesnt look like a hair dressers car.

Sent an advert across to my Parents in doing so found one that had just gone up.

 

Quick texts back and forth, a test drive and its now sitting on the driveway :D

There's a bit of a difference with a car thats 14 years newer and has done about 40k less miles!

Yeah I'm done with rolling around under a car now. Last 2 cars have been PCH which at least means I am not tempted to modify them either, lol.

 

Last car I owned had a Turbo return pipe oil leak which I had to fix on xmas eve in the cold on the driveway apart from that it was a solid car for a 13 yo. Before that I'd done loads on my Range Rover including replacing all the brake lines, fuel tank, suspension, disks, both carbs (one in the car park after work) , cam followers, cam belt and cam shaft. Oh yes and learnt how to weld so could patch up the holes. The cost of servicing the RR pushed me into mechanics as I'd never even changed spark plugs up to that point and the RR was all analogue, no computers or engine management, fix with a hammer and a screwdriver .

My last car (Pug 206) I loved but everything started going wrong till it's head gasket went while I was doing 70 on the A303, the day after my £600 MOT!!!

 

Next day went out and brought a Ford Fiesta with 1600 miles on the clock and loved it ever since!
