Windows 10 updates / Feature / WSUS

Hello

 

I am currently upgrading from 1809 to 20H2 via WUS / Feature Updates. I am struggling to get the updates to install automatically and reboot computers.

 

The update works if I manually check and reboot but I would like this to be automatic.

 

Does anyone have any ideas why this might be?

 

Can you share with me the GPO MS Update settings you are using?

If you want to make sure the update happens, I have set deadlines to be in the past.

This was to uninstall an update that caused problems - it might work with feature updates.

They seem to install but not reboot or install at shutdown at end of the day.

Has anyone found a way to feature update the computers to 20H2. we have over 750 computers on RM CC4 Network and I cant get them to feature update. I really dont want to go round and rebuild all 750 computers.

I found the Enablement Package route to be by-far the easiest.

Simple and quick to install via DISM:

DISM.EXE /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:"windows10.0-kb4562830-x64.cab" /Quiet /NoRestart

I went around and ran the 20H2 installer on each PC. Once it's done its checks at the beginning it can be left alone to reboot automatically.

 

Bit of a pain but more successful than the RM route. One to do in holidays!

Can I ask where you got the 20H2 installer from? Also I notice if we ran the 20H2 update you have to stay logged in otherwise it stops installing.

I've sent you a PM with a link. We just get the installer running and lock the PC - it will happily install and reboot as necessary.
