WannabrewUK Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Has anybody else experienced this? Staff receive emails to say student has left a private comment in google classroom, when they click on the reply button it just goes to the classroom homepage, not the comment. Apparently up until today it's worked. 4
paulkerton Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Yes. We've had reports of this a lot today. I've reported it to Google via the Admin Console, and they've asked me to get staff to use the "Report issue or request feature" option under the Question Mark at the bottom left to let them know. The more that do it, the more they'll notice the issue. 2
mwnci Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Yes, we are having it too! Pain in the neck 1
paulkerton Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Everyone report it. Through the console support as well as on Google Classroom. The more that do, the more they'll notice it's an issue!
WannabrewUK Posted February 10, 2021 Author Posted February 10, 2021 We've reported it to Google too, also tried to get staff to report it on google classroom. So hopefully it will get fixed soon. 1
rogerdnixon Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Seems fine here. I've had a few reports of the Classroom notifications issue - but could not reproduce it myself. Also report on the GSFE Google Currents community.
Michael Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Definitely not working - I've tried VPN'ing into site, launching Chrome and the same thing happens with Google Meet.

WannabrewUK Posted February 11, 2021 Author Posted February 11, 2021 Had a reply from the Google engineering team last night "We understand how serious this problem is for you and the impact it had for users in your organization, according to the information from our engineering team the issue was fully resolved as of today Feb 10, 2021 2:20 PM CET. Our engineering team explained that the fix will gradually rolled out but at this point most of the affected accounts shouldn't experience the issue anymore. Please confirm with the affected teachers if they're still experiencing the same issue. If they're still affected please allow up to 24 hours and try again, if after 24 hours you are still experiencing the same behavior, feel free to reply back and I'll be happy to re-open the investigation to push the fix for your account." Seems to be working for me this morning.
Michael Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 This issue appears to be fixed now, all reports have gone quiet!
