G Suite Education Enterprise training

Hi all

 

I am looking for recommendations/resources on G Suite enterprise training for both system admin staff and for the teachers.

For Enterprise Admin, I'd recommend https://www.coursera.org/specializations/g-suite-administration. I did this and even though I didn't have Enterprise, but I found it very useful.

 

For teachers, there is loads of stuff out there, and I don't think you need it to be Enterprise - G Suite for Education would suffice. Ideally, I'd recommend getting a couple of keen staff to be the 'champions' of G Suite. If they can do this as part of CPD , all the better. Getting them certified as Google Certified Educator level 1 and then level 2 would be great. I did my certifications with https://www.edtechteam.com/. I stumbled on a free offer but not sure there are any like that right now. I believe we have at least one G Suite Innovators amongst us - @Zoom7000 - but I'm sure there is at least one more. They'll have more up to date suggestions I'm sure.

Totally agree. I’ve done the coursera admin modules and found them helpful.

 

All of our teachers are starting google educator level 1 https://edu.google.com/teacher-center/certifications/educator-level1/

The Certified Educator programmes are really beneficial.

 

Certified Trainer is also helpful for the community and information sharing.

Thanks for the shout out @Ditto! There are lots of free resources available that you could make use of as a starting point. The Google Teacher Center (yes, US spelling!) is a great starting place for educators to learn about G Suite and work towards the Level 1 and Level 2 certifications. It's a great self guided course that they can dive in and out of at their leisure. I would highly recommend everyone (even IT professionals) to undertake these certifications. Doing so allowed me to become a Google Certified Trainer and Innovator and has honestly opened so many avenues that I never imagined possible.

 

I'm also one of the founders of the Global Google Educator Group, Global GEG. GEGs are free and volunteer educator led communities that help to deliver training and support for educators worldwide. Global GEG has a global reach, but there is also GEG UK which obviously has a more UK focus.

 

I'd definitely advise your staff to get involved in these communities and make use of the resources on all of those websites to get some really useful and free training.

Is it ok to switch ON access Data Studio in a Primary school ? When I tried the privacy policy mentions -not to turn ON if users are under 13 years.

Pretty sure accounts get disabled if you do, students will receive a notification saying they're under 13 and you'll need to contact Google to get them back enabled.

 

From experience, enabling it with Year 7.
