Exciting Opportunity - Support Coordinator We are seeking an ambitious and dedicated Support Coordinator to join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting our expanding customer base. This key position will drive the continued growth and development of our Support function while ensuring efficient operations and that we deliver the exceptional service standards our customers value. The Support Coordinator will oversee the Support Team function, taking responsibility for delivering outstanding customer satisfaction. Job Title: Support Coordinator Salary: £45,000 Per Annum Hours: Full Time Location: Work from home Who is SalamanderSoft? SalamanderSoft currently consists of 48 employees, 21 of whom comprise the Support Team. We are an established company, and our ethos is to provide excellent service to our customers and to be the best at what we do. This is reflected in the fact that all our sales are via word of mouth/recommendations – we do not have a sales team, and we are still growing strongly. All our roles are remote working, so you will be working from home. As a UK-based company, we are looking for a candidate who resides in the UK. It is expected that the Support Coordinator will have a technical background and have experience coordinating / managing IT Support teams and/or services. We have a great reputation with our customers and are looking to grow the team that support them and continue to improve where we can. What is the role? This is a key strategic role within the company for someone who enjoys running a high-performing support operation. You will be coordinating and line managing the existing support team who remotely support our range of products into schools and other educational institutions across the UK and further afield. You will shape how our support is delivered, improving systems and workflows and taking ownership of the Support function. More Than Support: Technical Problem‑Solving at the Core Our Support Team is hands‑on and deeply technical. In addition to supporting customers directly, the team diagnoses and resolves data‑driven issues using XML and XPath as part of their day‑to‑day work. While the Support Coordinator won’t be expected to write configuration day‑to‑day, a genuine technical curiosity is essential. You’ll need to understand how the team thinks and works, be comfortable discussing technical solutions, and be able to dive in to support when needed. This role suits someone who considers themselves techy at heart - perhaps with a scripting or light programming background - who enjoys balancing people leadership with an understanding of how data and school systems fit together. Could you be our new Support Coordinator at SalamanderSoft? The Support Coordinator will coordinate the day-to-day Support function of the team, ensuring the high standards our customers and team have come to expect. It is expected that the Support Coordinator will have a strong technical background in either the EdTech industry, or working in an IT team in schools, with significant experience coordinating IT Support teams and services. Attitude will be key, and we’ll be looking for someone who: • is ambitious, adaptable and flexible to business requirements • can prioritise competing demands in a fast‑moving support environment • takes ownership and follows issues through to resolution • is self-motivated and able to motivate and collaborate with their team • is comfortable working with customers and aims to deliver over their expectations • can lead and support technical teams, providing direction and removing blockers • has excellent attention to detail As this is a remote role you will need a suitable area for working in your home, a broadband connection and probably a kettle. Next Steps If you are interested in joining our team, please apply via our Hireful page here: https://transforminglearning.livevacancies.co.uk/#/job/details/198 with anything you want to support your application. Links to social media and community involvement would be great as well. No recruitment agencies, please. **APPROVED**

It may still be available on the SIMS server's folder and can be copied across to the workstation you need to export the photos to.

[ms office - o365] Backup and Restore of OneNote Class Notebooks
jawebber replied to ABirch_BGS's topic in Office Software
Hi all, Sorry to drudge up an old thread, but we're in the same situation here and find that OneNote's restore options are terrible, but the system is being used more and more by teachers and pupils at our school. We were looking at Barracuda, but they don't backup OneNote files, and so we're left with the situation that an accidental deletion of a pupil in a team, or a pupil swiping a few times on their iPad means they lost all of their work! All of our staff have manually had to untick "Disable History for this Notebook" through the Windows 10 app on every one of their Teams created classes, but that 60-day restore system is only useful if the deletion is spotted in the time period. Any thoughts on a system that does backup OneNote Class Notebooks in a Cloud-to-Cloud system? Much appreciated, James -
Would absolutely recommend John above having a look at licencing for you. He was great for us.

https://www.cliftonhigh.co.uk/our-school/careers-at-clifton-high/it-technician Come work with us!! We're expanding our IT department and looking for another IT Technician to join a forward thinking school, lots of resources and busy (but great!) environment. Not all of the skills listed are needed, the school is committed to investing in professional development, including courses and certifications for the right candidate. Do let me know of any questions via DM.

Would absolutely recommend the HP Nimble for your SAN hardware, have had ours for 3 years and it's excellent.
-
Just to mention, they have "smart" versions of the cabs too which we've purchased. Linking to a cloud system from zioxi with eco charge times and analysis of number of ipads connected. Great company.

Hi all, Wondering if anyone is dual tenancy and has found software that will maintain a sync between a user's Google Drive and OneDrive. A few of our teachers would like to use Google Classroom to set and mark work, but one single area where all their files are. We're soon to map the H:\ drive to OneDrive, and ideally want the teacher's OneDrive files to be an exact copy in their Google Drive. Any changes in either service get synced between them - if the teacher adds a file to Google Drive, it syncs back to OneDrive and vice versa. Locally, I'm using rsync to do similar things with bi-directional sync, but wondering if there's an app I can install on-site for the cloud services. Thanks!

Thanks everyone! So we've had demos from Lightspeed, CISCO Umbrella, Impero, Smoothwall, Securely and ContentKeeper on this one now - it's been a long process but we're really pleased to have seen the different products and how they stack up. Happy to chat with anyone over PM if they're rolling out iPads and want more info on what we thought. Thanks!
-
Pretty sure accounts get disabled if you do, students will receive a notification saying they're under 13 and you'll need to contact Google to get them back enabled. From experience, enabling it with Year 7.
-
Thanks, we're already paying for Office Pro Plus licencing on our current agreement so the A3 overlaps quite a bit at extra cost of adding on.
-
Hi all, A short one - is it possible to swap/convert licencing type mid way through contract (start of Year 2 of 3) from OVS to A3? Assuming not, but thought I'd check! Looking at InTune, Minecraft etc and these are included in the latter, but not our current. Cheers!

Hi all, Looking for recommendations for iOS off-site filtering for our student devices. We've looked at Lightspeed, Umbrella and extending our current on-site Smoothwall to filter at home. None seem to be exactly what we want - education focused, good UI in the admin end, with automated reports to email for safeguarding concerns or at least some scheduled reporting at up to various stakeholders. Looking at Securely, Impero Web Check and WebTitan next week. Would love to hear what you use, specifically for ipads, and would recommend. Cheers!

Hi all, So I'm considering the creation of new e-learning courses where teachers do the content and I produce SCORM packages to track pupil progress and report easily to teachers of a class. I can do the creation of the course in Storyline or Captivate, but the export doesn't fit our two current learning platforms (Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams) as both don't support SCORM packages to track data. I'm loathed to create another platform like Moodle - does anyone do this, and do you use something like Canvas? Thanks on any info! James
-
Are you using trusted authentication, and is it just one user? If so, check System Manager and check they're in there and set up correctly in 2 Login Details.
-
Not tried that here. I'd guess the issue lies in that there's nothing populated in Credentials Manager until you first sign in on File Stream, and then these credentials aren't saved in the roaming profile. I'm under the impression that Google doesn't do full SSO in the same way Adobe products don't with shared device licencing - but hoping someone has managed to crack this!
-
I'm having the same issue here! Has anyone managed to get rid of the login screen? We're Azure AD, so as soon as they type the e-mail address into the form and press sign in, it automatically authenticates through Azure and lets them in. We're Hybrid joined also, but it makes no difference, we're still seeing .. every time a user restarts. Has anyone cracked it? Thanks! James
-
Morning all, Is anyone deploying File Stream across their site successfully? I've packaged it as an MSI, but every time someone logs into drive we get the Welcome to Google File Stream box. Is there a registry key I can set to stop this? Thanks!
