Davit2005 Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 (edited) Key things to note are removal of Multi-Site management, if you have any multi sites being managed they are seemingly unaffected but you cannot add more. Cloud account only log in. Further info in the Vid Having bought a Cloud Key myself for the Unifi Protect at home I'm glad I still have my old self hosted Unifi Video server. FN-GM Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 I don’t think it would apply to many here. The multi site feature is more for managed service providers. When you have a single network across multiple physical sites you wouldn’t use it. EG: I have all of our physical 18 sites on 1 Unifi site.

Though, that's no longer supported either, so today I migrated the controller over to a VM instead. Trying to figure it what to do with our 4 Unifi Video setups now. Looking like I'm gonna need to spend £800 on new kit if I want to use apps etc...

It does seem to work quite well, but the biggest issue is that SWGfL is blocking the UniFi app in someway so we can't access the cameras outside the network where we could before with UniFi Video - I've had countless e-mails back and forth with SWGfL and UniFi about getting ports opened, filtering, etc - but still no joy; another reason I want to move away from SWGfL. Works nicely inside the network with some nice features and was pretty inexpensive really, approx £250 for the UNVR plus disks. Only supports up to 50 cameras per box though. Pete

Yeah, the problem is that we have 4 sites using Unifi Video, so 3 NVRs and the UAS-XG. None of the sites are particularly big, so a Cloud Key Plus would handle each of them, but it means buying a bunch of kit.

I think the issue is really down to how we have our network with SWGfL - we have separate private VLANs internally and they have to map our network to theirs and while it works really well generally, it always causes havoc when we need to get something opened up a bit more. Pete Yeah my first IT job in Edu it had a LEA provided internet. Getting ports opened for BES and Exchange took months. It was my one and only experience of a setup. We migrated filtering to in house so we could leverage AD based filtering policies and have more control with the goal to move away from the LEA provided ISP which they did after I'd moved on.

There are a few other changes to the GUI and moving of things around.
