Is anyone aware of an issues with Teams where external users are joining meetings via the lobby?

Had two staff mention, on seperate lessons, that a student was admitted via the lobby under the name of pupil in school, but it wasn't that pupil.

My first thought was another pupil had found out his password, but just reading on a Teams Facebook group that other have had exactly the same.

It seems to be only since we've switched to using the lobby.

A massive safeguarding issue if this is true.

Sounds like they're sending out invites via a link? If so that's accessibly to anyone with the link if it's being shared around

Yeah most probably, I guess disabling guest access is the way to stop that?

Yup we've been seeing that the last few days since we started using the Lobby for everyone.

Normally if you just have the link and are not signed in, you get to choose your display name BUT Teams then adds (GUEST) to the end so it is clear to the meeting organiser that you are not a local user.

This safeguard seems to not be working, and unauthenticated users are appearing in the lobby with no visual clue that they are not actually the student they claim to be.

Just wondering, does anyone have Guest access enabled? We currently do, for external users to be able to get in.

Is there another way round allowing external people in if guest access is disabled?
