Techgeek30 Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 I can’t seem to add the insights app. In the school directory sync admin centre analytics is enabled as stated at the bottom of this page. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/class-insights Also in teams admin centre > teams apps> manage apps, insights is not visible from the list of apps. Global policy has been set to allow all apps and 3rd party apps... any ideas?? Thanks
tapb Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 This is how educators add Insights to their class team: Educator's guide to Insights in Microsoft Teams - Office Support This is how educators and leaders add Insights app to the app bar: All-classes view in the Insights app - Office Support (microsoft.com)
Techgeek30 Posted January 8, 2021 Author Posted January 8, 2021 I have tried everything as stated on these web pages but still it doesn’t appear. I have ended up logging a call with Microsoft who themselves cannot figure out why it’s not available for our tenant? Something is amiss [emoji20]
knightrider Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 I've got it working in you are a class owner *educator) but I want to set it so someone can see the entire organisations stats (Leader\) but can't find any instructions/detailed info as to where I would make this change. Can anyone help?

Can anyone help? Stupid isn't it - The MS guide for "IT Professionals" says you give them access.. but then doesn't tell you how. It's buried at the bottom of this article https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/leader-s-guide-to-insights-in-microsoft-teams-for-education-8738d1b1-4e1c-49bd-9e8d-b5292474c347?ui=en-us&rs=en-us&ad=us 3

Makes no sense & what if I want someone to have ‘leader’ who are not class owners, Trust Data Director for instance, is that possible or not?
DrCheese Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 Yes it's done in the app - You can pick your trust data director & let them see all schools. 1
robyholmes Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 If you want a staff member who's already got classes to see the school wide view, can you? As currently they just get a list of their classes.
knightrider Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 Yes it's done in the app - You can pick your trust data director & let them see all schools. But I as a non class owner can’t do this & this is why I’m confused I think.

You need to logon to teams with whatever account has teams admin rights, i.e Your office365 global admin account - Then you have access to the feature that lets you give other users access. 2

Anyone know what the extra sync for SDS gives you? I've filled in a form to enable it for our tennat but can't seem to see what extra info it gives you.

The problem is I've given a couple of our staff access to view it, but they teach classes so they just see a list of there classes. There doesn't seem to be a way to change Insights to see the school view.
DrCheese Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 It's here - Your staff need to go to the dedicated insight app, then click the cog in the top right/switch to leaders experience 1

DrCheese Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 You're welcome - It drove me absolutely insane as well!
StormTrooper59 Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 I've setup the leadership view on Insights and followed the setup guide but our reports seems to just be User Activity. Even when changing the report type it doesn't seem to change. Has anyone come across similar ?
tapb Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 You can currently see Daily Active Uers, by day and by hour and download Report
StormTrooper59 Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 I see that view too, when I change All activities to something different, it doesn't load anything useful.
