[sims] FMS links to SIMS

Morning All,

 

I've been asked to investigate what links there are between FMS and SIMS (for payroll and the like) as the school is worried we might be moving away from SIMS but would potentially Keep FMS.

Can anyone point me to documentation that would cover this (my google-fu has failed so far)?

They are entirely unconnected and unrelated - all data imported from SIMS to FMS such as employee information is done on initial setup.

Of course anyone sane would question why anyone would want to remain with FMS!

Presumably there's some sort of regular update for when new people start though? (A scheduled SIMS report or something?)

FMS can use personnel data in SIMS at any time to calculate staff salary commitments.
