Google Meet - 'Quick Access' question / confusion.

Just a little confused how quick access works based on the displayed info.

 

When turned off

 

-Only people invited by the host can join without asking

-Everyone else must ask to join

-People can't join anonymously

 

So if you are not invited you will need to ask to join the meeting, but surly if you are not invited that means you are anonymous but that then means you cant join the meeting.

 

Also we would like to make people ask to join, does that simply mean not entering their email address while creating the calendar invite?

For education anonymous isn't a thing. You always need a Google account to join Education Meets, unless you specifically asked Google support to switch it off.

You can still be sent the link and attempt to join an Education Meet but you'll need a Google account to be able to even ask to join.

 

If you are invited by calendar, you can join a meeting you've been invited to when Quick Access is turned off. If you're not invited and quick access is turned off, you will have to ask to join.

Its OK I have had a play and worked it out
