[ipad] iPad case recommendations please...

With the influx of DfE iPads we are having to look at cases due to the sleeve covers that they arrived with being practically pointless...

 

Our very old iPad minis had a leather style flip and stand cover that held the ipad with bits of elastic and they have actually lasted quite well (although only being used by the older children), but are beginning to fail. The next batch had a more rugged rubber type case which are actually still going strong, so this is the type we will be looking for.

 

Obviously the range of choice is bewildering, so looking for tried and tested with a decent price/performance (bearing in mind these are brand new 10" iPads), but basic with a screen cover (no need for flip out stands or anything else that will get broken off)...

@VeryPC supplies us with TechGear G Shock cases, when we buy our iPads. They're chunky but easy to hold and have protected many a dropped iPad from damage over the last 3 years. They do have a flip-out stand, but these can be removed simply by unclipping them. I keep them in a separate box so they can be requested when students are doing things like stop-motion animation.

We've had good experiences with Griffin cases.

And I'd say avoid the Maroo ExoRail - they were kind of cheep feeling and one broke during installation.

We went with STM Dux cases from KRCS (https://cdn.krcs.co.uk/media/wysiwyg/PDFs/KRCS_Schools_Price_List231120.pdf) for our ipad Mini's a few years ago and they have held up very well.

I think we got the STM ones for the iPad minis when we received our second batch quite a few years ago and they have held up well (they are 'recommended' by Apple I guess as they sell them through their store)...

 

Those and the Griffin ones would certainly put a dent in the budget!

Would anyone say they offer £ extra worth of quality/protection over the Gshock cases?

 

I'm a bit stuck with the price versus performance if I'm honest... STM Dux for 60 iPads would be looking at over £2k (unless anyone knows where to get them cheap - not ebay) or about £800 for GShock...

Sorry, only searched on their webpage and found ones for 6th Gen iPads (Special education-only pricing) at £40 each!
