How do I print from a Chromebook to a Sharp MFP printer that has PIN number printing.

Currently when someone prints from a Windows device they need to enter a pin number to print onto the schools Sharp printers. The pin numbers are all stored on the printers themselves, there is no software on the server controlling the pin numbers.

The primary school recent purchased some Chromebooks and I am trying to workout a way to print from them.

I have noticed Mobility Print which is free, does anyone know if this would work with the pin numbers?

Any other ideas????

Had this at a school a couple of years ago, we ended up setting up a old PC with Google cloud print gave it a pin number and printed via that it was a bit random and did not always print.

Good Luck

Cloud Print support ends in 17 days. CUPS is your answer, unless you already have Papercut or Directprint.io

Does the Sharp MFP support CUPS?

I have just logged on to the MFP printer but cant see anything listed about CUPS :-(

I have also just noticed Sharp do an Android app, which I can test when I am next in the school.

Maybe they've changed it and made Mobility Print standalone, but when I used to install it, Papercut Server was required and Mobility Print was something you installed on top of it.

Things change! :D

OK I have disabled pin numbers on one of the printers, installed Mobility Print, deployed the Mobility printer app to the chromebooks.

The app just sits there searching for printers, I have disables the print server firewall.

OK so in the end I found a Sharp printing app in the Play Store which seems to be working on my test Chromebook.

Shame I couldn't get Mobility Print working as that seems to have a few more options.
