Lenovo V15 issue connecting to WiFi with Realtek RTL8822CE

We've just had a batch of Lenovo V15s which have the Realtek RTL8822CE WiFi cards. We're getting intermittent issues were the laptop doesn't get a "real" IP address they get an address in the 169.254 range. After some Googling it seems that this a known issue with this model of WiFi adapter. Has anyone experienced this? if so did you manage to get round it

 

We're running Windows 10 1909,the latest driver available from the Lenovo site and Windows is up to date

I found it a lot more reliable when I used the driver built into the OS, rather than one provided by Lenovo or Realtek.
