DinningtonComp Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 Hi all. As a Trust we are looking at replacing ageing Smartboards (still have 580/680) but due to the amount needed across the schools i thought i would take a look around at alternative options. Do any of you guys recommend anything that can give the interactivity option in a class environment without the need for massive cost outlay? I have a test unit for the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter to play with but looking at other options too Thanks in advance
DaveTheTech Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 I was thinking about this when installing the display adapter we use here. QuattroPod Mini Starter Pack - BYOD Wireless Presentation (ezcast.com) You still get to keep the touch control.
ThatBoringBloke Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 We took a brief look at the elmo before deciding we need to fully review the situation with who actually uses them interactively rather than just a projection screen.

Depends on your classroom setup, but if you have classroom PCs of some sort you could replace the Smart board with a large-screen display and use Airplay running on the connected PC to connect from an iPad or Android device. Works best if PCs (or teacher laptops) have well-defined names so people can easily see which of several devices they are connecting to, and does need staff to have some kind of tablet or similar.
BenQ_Chris Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Hi, If you wanted to look at interactive touchscreens, we have 3 main ranges, ranging from cost effective (RE7501 - 75"), mid range (RMXX02K 55"-86") to premium (RPXX02 65"-86"). They have casting (iOS, Android, Chromebook, PC & Mac) capabilities built in as standard, supporting split screen. Some additional features are anti-bacterial coating*, anti glare coating, integrated soundbar*, 4k panel, driver free with PC, MAC, Chromebook, reinforced tempered glass & 5 year warranty on 65" and above (if registered within 30 days of purchase). The whole range include standard wall brackets too. Let me know if I can be of any assistance or if you have any questions. * model dependent
