6.0.36 maybe not perfect. Some changes to UI and move of some features and upgrade/migration issues

Worth a watch of the YouTube video by Lawrence Systems, he does not have any say or mentioned tie with Unifi but has had a fair bit of experience of the products.

I'm still holding on 5.12.35 for the controller at the mo until I feel 6 is (mostly) issue free although I do have firmware 4.3.21.11325 on over 100 devices without any issues

Yeah I am still on 5 something. Got it running on a Ubuntu VM at the moment but have a Cloud Key Gen2 for Unifi Video which I could upgrade and move an AP to.

Upgraded this week, biggest things some settings are in the old interface and others are in the new and its a pain.

Had a few issues with it, personally I wouldn't of upgraded yet till at least 6.1. If you have a fairly simple setup then I wouldn't worry but multiple sites, guest networks etc I would perhaps hold off for time being.

The WLAN groups and VLAN tagging are to watch out for. Both these impact our network. Having over 100 access points makes me nervous about installing this.

I think that is the biggest issue, I have read some have had to re-create the groups for it to work too.

I’m assuming upgrading will cause an outage until the changes are made.

Maybe I could:

1. Block traffic to unifi with an access control list.

2. Upgrade

3. Make config changes

4. Remove the ACL.

Not sure good call though like the idea of what your thinking.

Probably just as good to isolate your controller if you can do and make the changes on there, either way should work.
