Remote Desktop - Session Based

So, I accidentally deleted the WWWROOT folder from the inetpub folder on C drive on my RDS server.

Does anyone know of a simple way of getting this back, as the webpages from the server are now unavailable as they dont exist!

 

I cant find it in Recycle bin or in any recovery scanner such as RECUVA.

 

Is there any way to fix this?

 

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Can you restore the folder from a backup of the server?

Unfortunately, we didnt do back ups of this server! Stupid I know...

What version of windows server?

 

I am thinking could you not install on another server and drag them off?

 

I wouldn’t of thought these files are changed in anyway maybe just look in the same location on every server to pull the information.

 

If not maybe somebody could zip theirs up and e-mail over.

Windows Server 2019

 

Havent thought about that.. but as you say, it may be possible. I can't remember seeing any specific files in there that would be unique but I may be wrong!

Just wondering if you have shadow copy enabled.

Not even sure where that would be so I could check it!

If you don't have any previous versions then shadow copy isn't enabled.

 

If you do that's great you can get the folder back.

Yep, shadow copy wasnt enabled but I think I might do it in future. So far no luck!

I think thats what im going to have to do and then I will have to rebuild the site and so on! This time I will make sure I back up somewhere/somehow!
