[bromcom] Query re importing KS2 data

Hi

We transitioned over from SIMS to Bromcom in the summer. I would like to import Key Stage data for our newer students.

The KS2 data for students on roll at the time, was transferred into Bromcom from SIMS, and I am assuming that KS2 data for some students who have joined us since the start of the current academic year will have been imported into Bromcom by virtue of being included in their CTFs.

I have downloaded KS2 data from the DfE website and have tried to import it, but cannot do so on account of the columns being of the formula type.

On the face of it – if the KS2 data for new students is not included in the CTF, then as things stand there is no way to import/input any KS2 data for them at all.

How do other people overcome this problem? Is it just easier to create new assessment types & columns to hold the KS2 data instead, and copy over all of the existing data in the formulae columns to these new ones?

From recollection, you can search up UPN numbers on Key to Success (part of DfE Secure Access) and it will create a CTF for you to download (as well as the usual csv spreadsheets). That CTF can then be imported for just assessment data, which would update any students you have included in your search.

Yes, you can take CTFs from Key To Success and import from there. The CTF import function is on the student screen under actions. Any problems contact the helpdesk and they will be able to guide you through.

Yes when you import a CTF on the Student list page you will be given a pop-up with several tick boxes for the different areas of the system you want to import information for, assessment being one of them.
