Whenever we log onto our Forest Root (whether remotely or locally) we get a dialogue saying "AMR Module has encountered a problem".

Sometimes the box shows about 10 times one after the other as soon as 'OK' is pressed.

Anyway, couldn't see anything in Add/Remove Programs and there's not a lot in the Event Viewer other than it's related in some form to 'ntdll.dll' - I'm under the impressions this is a very important dll that is linked to boot?

After doing a search of My Computer (expecting to find a virus or something) I discovered AMRu.exe which is located in RMNetwork and is claiming it's an RM file.

Can anybody help me by telling me what it is/does/how to stop it crashing or whether it's safe to delete etc?

Thanks.

AMR = Audio Modem Riser?

Here's a definition:

AMR lets manufacturers create motherboards without analog I/O functions. Instead, these functions are placed on a separate card--with the codec chip--which plugs in perpendicular to the motherboard so that the motherboard and "riser" card form a right angle.

Separating the analog I/O functions from the motherboard means higher audio quality and reduced production delays. Prior to the AMR specification, motherboard analog I/O functions went through a lengthy FCC and international telecom certification process.

The only files on the Forest Root that are called AMR are attached.

I have had to split down to be able to upload.

This is the WHOLE FOLDER with the .exe in - in the hope there's some kind of clues somewhere!

Thanks

It's part of auditor (the Auditor ManageR Utility, hence amru.exe) - see TEC768397. We have it running on our Auditor server as well.

Looking at the log files from the rar, it seems to be having trouble determining some database information. Please be aware that all your reports that you've run are in that rar file as well, some data could be sensitive.

Why not give it a reinstall? The msi should be in D:\RMNetwork\Server\Tools\RM AMR Utility\[version]. If you right click -> uninstall then reinstall it, that might help.

Thanks for the heads up bizzel - I've since removed the files :)

We don't use Auditor - is it fairly safe to remove (nothing will happen if we do a standard uninstall???)

Thanks,
