Hey All,

getting a weird error across out google classrooms at school a really detailed one "There was an error. Please try again." when we try and assign work to the children. Seems to be on any class and any teacher in there. Anyone had this before?

"

I seem to get a similar error when attaching work from drive as well "There was an error while creating the file. Please try again."

Any experiance?

thanks all

Is the work inside a shared drive that has permissions locked down (don't allow sharing of files outside of the permissions on the shared drive)?

Got it working. A collegue of mine had deleted a user that shouldnt of been but has now been restored. :confused2:

So the suggestion to 'try again' was never going to work! Error handling in many modern systems really leaves a lot to be desired!

One of our students has an issue in the Android app when clicking on a class; the error says "Sorry, something went wrong. Try again" and the class disappears and says "Class not found"

He says he had the same issue using Chrome on his phone yesterday, however when he tried it today, it worked fine. So I've suggested he uses Chrome for now.

It's very difficult to help students with issues like this at the moment, as the opportunities to actually help them are extremely limited (short break times, short lunch times, no after school club they can go to, etc), and the lack of proper error code makes it very difficult to diagnose the issue.

Just to add, in case anyone is looking for this, the issue was relating to the app switching accounts.

One solution is to use two different web browsers, one for school stuff and the other for personal stuff, and not use the app.

But a more elegant solution is to use the multi-user functionality built into Android (which hardly anyone I know uses or even knows about!) and this will ensure the app uses the correct account.
