SIMS export for merging with Class Charts export (parents email)

Good afternoon all,

 

I'm trying to produce a report/spreadsheet in SIMS that will let me export UPN & parent email ONLY, so I can add the data to the Class Charts Parent Code spreadsheet and use VLOOKUP, so I can then create a single sheet and use that to mailmerge using Outlook to send the Parent Code to parents.

 

Has anyone else done this, and could anyone give me some advice to find the parent email in SIMS? (at the moment, when I export that field, I get their whole address plus their email address.

Ok, I'll answer my own query. Classcharts doesn't natively include the UPN number. You have to request it to be added to the spreadsheet.

Also, there is a guide about exporting parent emails in a guide from capita. I did indeed manage to merge the two tables.

Class Charts uses the MlS ID...export that from sims with your parent email addresses...that's how you match up your records.
