ricki Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Hi Has anyone approved windows sp3 in wsus and does it kill loads of machines like sp2 did? Also how have other people delt with sp3 are people installing it manually or are people ignoring it at the moment? Thanks for all your help. Richard
Jobos Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I'm putting it off till I've got time in the summer holidays and then I will be using WSUS.
Ryan Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Not touching it for now, staying unapproved. I'll wait and see how other roll-outs go before i investigate!
K.C.Leblanc Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 We're leaving it until our LEA confirm that all issues with sims and SP3 have been resolved.
ricki Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 Thanks I will leave it a bit then. Thanks again for all your help. Richard
Geoff Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Approved it then hid in the server room for a while. Killed an AMD HP machine (stupid hp image) and blue screened another 3 (impatient people turning machines off mid install).
cookie_monster Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Plonked it on the deployment server so new builds get it, all old PC's are staying SP2 for now. Not had any issues with SIMS or other apps so far though.
srochford Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 We've added it to new machine images and it's being rolled out to batches of about 50 machines at a time on other machines. So far it's been OK (touches wood ...)
Simcfc73 Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I tested 3 rooms then trhought sod it and rolled it out, its sat on quite a few machines as downloaded but not installed yet. Out of 230 only 50 to go and no problems up to now (touch wood). Onyl issue is the first reboot takes a while.
