Microsoft Teams without Microsoft Accounts - Can it be Done?

Hi everyone,

 

This one has crept up on me and admittedly I know very little about it but been ambushed by excitable folks wanting Microsoft Teams meetings in two minutes and needing to log in.

 

Is there a way to use MS Teams without a Microsoft login? Is there just a web version?

 

Please let me know if so. If not *big gulp here* do I need to go Office 365 somehow to get this working for staff?

Gosh no I REALLY would rather not and just have a web version, if there is.

 

If there isn't and I've no choice then I've no choice I guess. Meeting due in 2 minutes and really nothing I can do? No web version at all?

You need a Microsoft login to create a meeting, but then you can share the meeting link and anonymous users can join (assuming youve set it up that way), but you loose a lot of collaboration that way.

There is a web version which can be used instead of having the App installed if that is what you mean.

One person with a link could just hand it out, then you get zoom bombing, fake names, etc etc

It's an installable application (install by administrator) that will add the plugin of the web version to any machine. Just run the _install.cmd file and then look for the folder Mircosoft in program files.

 

Other Network Managers around my county have used this too
