Issue with extended desktops & touch on Smart TV

Hello, The teacher likes to use extended desktops but on her new Smart (made by smart) TV when she touches the screen, rather than the touch registering on the big TV screen, its registering the touch on the laptop screen and moving things around on that.

 

I have tried to find some king of 'This screen for touch' setting in the smartboard settings but cant.

 

I also tried setting the TV screen as screen 1 in Windows, but this then seems to move all her laptop apps, icons ext over to the TV screen, leaving her laptop screen empty.

 

Any ideas?

You can change which screen responds to the touch via the SMART toolbox in the notification area.

 

I’m on leave this week but can upload some screenshots next week if you need it.

I think you might need to post some shots, I have been going round in circles looking. BTW we have the newsiest version of Smart Notebook

I have still not been able to get the Smart TV to pickup the correct extended desktop, any chance you can upload a screenshot :0)

with ours the touch only registers on the PRIMARY display when in extended mode, that said ive not looked for the above tickybox to pick screen

You can set which screen is the touch screen using Tablet PC in Control Panel. There's a 'Setup' button on the top if you have a touch screen attached. Open this and the primary display will show first, if this is your teachers display, press enter to skip and on your board, tap the screen and hey presto it's configured. Its a per machine setting so once set all users are correct.

You’ve just beaten me to it! I had to go to a computer room to remind myself at school today and have only just got to posting on here

Well that was annoying :-(. Drove over to the school and nothing works.

 

If I go into calibrate in control panel click setup, hit enter at the first screen (as I don't need the main laptop screen setup) then on the next screen hit the middle of the TV when asked, it does registers that I have pressed the screen and that is that. If I then click on Calibrate, no matter what I do it only tries to calibrate the laptop screen, even when the calibration cross I need to press is displayed on the TV, when I press it it presses the equivalent part on the laptop monitor.

 

I also cant get it to work when I select screen 2 as the primary monitor, no matter which monitor I pick as primary, when I press on the Smart TV it always registers the press as being on the laptop screen.

 

This is really starting to annoy me know.

This is a response from SMART : (We use MX v2 Series)

 

"On the computer with the desktop in extended mode, start the SMART Settings utility. Click on the Orient button and the gray orientation screen will appear on the computer display. Press the spacebar on the keyboard of the computer. The orientation screen should move to the SMART Board interactive flat panel display. Complete the Orientation process."

I've just tried this in two rooms here,

 

MX275 and MX275v2 it works OK in both rooms on that hardware.

 

Another room with an E70 on the other hand doesn't play ball.

 

I think some of the older models of TV don't seem to support it.
