BYOD devices (Secondary school) and sharing screens

Looking for the best option for Computing/IT class to share screens *but* each individual student has BYOD (primarily laptops - not Chromebooks) so not sure of options.

 

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Microsoft Miracast adapters. They obviously only work with Windows, so you're going to be excluding Apple devices, however they're cheap in comparison to the all signing all dancing multi OS display devices. We've got them dotted all over the school with minimal issues.

Teams screen sharing to a PC attached to the projector?

Thanks for that. Was thinking (a bit more) - along lines of Google Chromecast - ideally based on teacher's PC which students could 'broadcast through' (if that makes sense?)

 

Without students having to install extensions/software on their BYODs if they could 'cast' their screen through teacher's PC (trying to stop random students casting directly to the projector!), and teacher could then choose a screen to show on projector for demo purposes and discussions. ALA 'wi-fi' version of RM Tutor/Impero etc?

Isnt' this exactly what people use AirServer for? I think they have a 'universal' version that does chromecast/miracast/airplay all-in-one. We don't use it here b/c we're 1:1 iPad for student devices, so just use AppleTVs, but I know other schools use AirServer. (RGS Worcester and King Edward VI Southampton, I think, are two candidates that come to mind. More, I'm sure.)

The AirServer software doesn't work for us for BYOD as personal devices connect to a different network compared to our domain devices. We did purchased two AirServer Connect boxes, which worked, but were so slow and prone to crashing we stopped using them. Good shout about presenting screens via a Teams meeting.

We use the Epson iProjection app as we have Epson projectors that are compatible. The projectors are wired onto our BYOD LAN as the staff also have MS Surfaces that are MDM controlled so don't need to be on the school LAN. This way the teachers can still control whats projected. We did suggest the teams screen share but they weren't impressed with that as an option because not everyone uses Teams?!
