JordanT91 Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 My job role is changing so I'll be spending a lot less time on IT. I'm looking into buying in some IT support a couple of times a week, but I need the office staff to be able to reset pupils' AD passwords and check usernames when the support is not on site. The tricky part is that the office staff all use county council PCs, not school PCs. They are unable to run any applications, so cjwdev isn't possible unfortunately (it looked perfect), and neither is a cut down MMC. It would need to be some sort of web portal. The obvious solution is Office 365 AD writeback, but this isn't possible with our A1 Plus subscription. Has anyone got any idea how I can do this with little or no cost?
mavhc Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Some options here https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/2034670-web-based-ad-password-reset-hosted-locally-on-a-vm
Michael Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 It's unfortunate, as RSAT with delegated rights would be perfect for this.
ITGURU Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Maybe try something like logonbox ? free version should be sufficient, web based ad/password management.
MatthewL Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Can you not put a PC in the office just for the purpose of this? Or do you have a terminal service you can install it on and they RDP onto that?

For every staff license you buy, you get 15 student licenses for free.

Used for years https://www.burconix.com/software/download-change-password Won't work unfortunately, the County PCs are locked down and can't run executables.
