mitchell1981 Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Hi All, Getting a bit confused by Impero Education Pro. We bought 400 perpetual licences about 8 years ago. We paid for support for a while but eventually stopped. When we stopped paying we stopped getting updates. Fair enough! However, recently I signed back into my support account and noticed that my support is active until 2025 and I have access to the updates again. We definitely have not paid for support. Is this something that Impero are doing now? My second question is, I thought last time I was at BETT that Impero had gone fully web based. However, the downloads on the support portal only seem to be for the old style application. The website is pretty useless and makes no mention of whether it is a web based or an installed app, and there are no screen shots anywhere on the website so I can see for myself. I was keen to know if the web version works over the Internet and therefore bypasses the problems with Direct Access. Perhaps the web version I saw is actually sold under a different name?
mavhc Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 They've gone maybe 10% web based, for extra money
Jcx500 Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 They offer a hybrid solution, got demoed for it when we was looking to buy impero , we just went full on prem for now at least , didn’t really see any advantages of the hybrid but maybe it’s better since then
Impero_support Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Hi Thank you for your thread and hopefully I can help regarding some of the questions asked. 1 – Support updates, are only given to customer with a valid support subscription if you would like to contact the support team we can look closer into this issue. 2 - The current Education Pro product is a hybrid solution which allows you to either host the Impero server locally or Impero can host it for you. It then offers a web interface console which teachers and admins can use to view and control the classroom. The hybrid solution allows for remote working although if you are hosting the server locally you would require some network changes.Impero will soon be launching a new cloud product Impero class:room which fully integrates on a digital safeguarding platform, please visit the website and products for further information.
