chekmate1984 Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Hi all In next few months we are looking to migrate all home users to one drive and shares to sharepoint. I have one question. We have not yet created year 7 accounts and was wondering if we can bypass migration and create straight to one drive so they dont have any home drive in school (saves one year group migration too). Has anyone done this process? i am unable to find anything online. Can find loads of migration related articles but not creating from scratch to one drive. We have the Office 365 A1 license Ideally we want student to log in and have the one drive as mapped home drive and documents pointing to one drive. So we can decommission the file servers Thanks
ICTM-Services Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Hi, Drop me a PM and we can discuss more. We have schools doing that method currently. Kind Regards, Scott

thimon Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 (edited) Have OneDrive auto sign in on user login, with documents shortcuts redirected to their OneDrive directory, done. You can map their OneDrive directory via logon script as we do for staff (for Hosted SIMS purposes), however it’s not really needed, they can click on the OneDrive icon on the left hand side of File Explorer. EDIT: I would add you don’t need to purchase any software or go via any reseller to do this. All achievable via GPO. Edited September 27, 2020 by thimon
