Hi all

I am using Veyon to view/control computer in the house from my laptop

so - very simple setup - no AD or anything like that

and only 3 computers to monitor/control

View and control work fine if I type in the computer name that I want to connect to

but - if I add the computer to the main screen - then right click on it and click on remote view (or control) then I get this

veyon problem.png

looks like it is firing up an infinite number of view sessions

but it isn;t - just looks like it

I can stop the view session but clicking on 1 exit icon - or just closing 1 window

any ideas what is causing this?

TIA

Mike

Dunno about Veyon (I keep meaning to try it, but have heard it's a bit hinky), but if what you want is remote access to 3 machines you could try: https://www.remoteutilities.com/product/ . I did ask about it here once and was told it was rubbish (but not why), but you can request a free license that allows you up to 10 stored connections. Just install the Host on the remotes and the Viewer where you want to access from (or as a portable app) also has an Android app. Even offers 2FA. Works well for me.

Could do - it is just that I started to convert to Veyon at my last school but left before I could finish it - and this was one of the problem I had

so it is kinda like unfinished business that annoys me

I have been looking at this again

When I start as Master - I get a message saying the my-pc-name is now accessing this computer

so I'm wondering if this is normal??

and if maybe this is causing the problem - i.e. it is monitoring itself - so it shows its own screen - so the monitor then sees its own screen and so shows it - as infinitum

but I can;t see any parameter that might stop this

any confirm that this is normal

or know of a magic parameter??

TIA
