Why is a second hand GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070 8GB the same price as a new ....

Just helping a friend get a new graphics card (or second hand).

Started looking at the one I have which is a GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070 8GB, which seem to go second hand for around £200 ish on Ebay. Then noticed the GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6GB Gaming OC new for £200+ ish

Any idea why the newer card goes for that cheap price new? Is the 1070 better but older?

Ill advice him to get a new 1660 card as it will also have a warranty and can be returned if needed.
This is always a good idea in my view. You never have any idea how the old owner treated their cars. How much they overlooked it/cooked it etc...

It might be worth holding out if viable - the 3xxx series are released on September 17th - might be the 2xxx series come down in price a bit ( maybe wishful thinking though )
