the_quick Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Lovely, results day which we do mostly through digital means and Gmail doesn't work - sending doesn't work. And of course Y11 left it to last minutes to check if they can login to the system where they can check the results. Yesterday I received over 80 emails asking for login details. Today they can't send this request, so wonder how many will be calling us soon. Principal is not very happy.
JJonas Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 (edited) I have been having fun with this too. For similar reasons. G Suite Status Dashboard page Edited August 20, 2020 by JJonas

DrBeaker Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 OMG what a day for this to happen. IT staff will unfairly get the blame for a failure in the cloud system.
ultimatepie Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 In a school in west Yorkshire this Morning, We built a report to send results via Bromcom which uses Microsoft azure so mx records will be same as office 365 etc, but we use google Gsuite to host emails for everyone in School, having to use google vaults to see if students have received emails with results to verify. very sad day for google,
caffrey Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Perfect, Internet down the day before for a day and now this. Go to the cloud they said, it'll be fun they said IT is rubbish 1
ultimatepie Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 take me back to Microsoft exchange on site, at least I could do something part from looking like a tit, blaming google,
Michael Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 To be fair to Google, their communication is spot on and it's clear they too want this resolved quickly.
the_quick Posted August 20, 2020 Author Posted August 20, 2020 It mostly works now. Sometimes we have problem with attachments, but usually it sends after second try. Still not the best time
paulkerton Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Not the best day for that to happen, but it seems to be sorting itself out now. Ahh the joys of being the G Suite guy and being on holiday when this occurs 1
the_quick Posted August 20, 2020 Author Posted August 20, 2020 2 days in the whole year, when I'm absolutely forbidden to take holidays - day before and results day

[emoji848] [emoji33] Especially if stuff is via an MSP or 3rd parties such as SIMS, Gmail, Office 365 etc? E.g. Another poster on the forums had a lighting strike last week at their site.
