They seem to have some grunt compared to the last gen. Some nice boost clocks if you have a board that will support them:

 

 

Let's see what the pricing is going to be like given there are rumours that the third gen Ryzen chips may well be priced higher than the previous generation.

Still running 1st gen Ryzen 1800x, Which i got on release day! Waiting for the consumer 4th gen CPUs to come out before i upgrade. From what i read the ones released today are for OEMS only? and not Zen 3

You're right! Damn, missed that bit. I upgraded my sons 3200G setup with a Ryzen 2600 I got from AliExpress a coupel of weeks back. Those older Ryzens still deliver a lot of value for the price.

The APUs 'lag' the CPUs on series number, so the 3000 series Ryzen CPUs match the 4000 series Ryzen APUs. A little confusing, but it's due to the staggered releases amongs other factors.

That's a good point. After all, you wouldn't release your newest architecture chips with the lower end price tags that the 'G' versions come with. Far better to launch the big ticket items first.

They should make an effort to realign naming formats though I feel.
