On the search for a new credit card (preferably some sort of Reward card) as my current ASDA credit card has stopped today.

Doing research it appears very few still offer Apple Pay availability - particularly at the moment this is an ideal quality for me to minimise contact points whilst in shops.

The Amazon card seems ideal in terms of rewards, but unfortunately it appears (via the reviews) to not offer Apple Pay.

Any suggestions? Or do I need to stop being lazy when paying lol!

The only problem with Curve that is you lose the Section 75 refund protection of the credit card which is very useful (especially these days with lots of companies going bust).

Also I have personally found curve to be a bit of a pain to work with. The huge problems I had getting refunds in the past drove me mad, their support has been poor when I have contacted them and they also decided to issue me a commercial card instead of a personal card I thought I was signing up for. When you join it decides what you will get based on your job title and not on any other factor and when I contacted them they tried to charge me £5 to get it changed back. They have also introduced a new £5 charge for a card for new accounts.

As to the OP, I thought most major bank issued credit cards work with Apple Pay now.

Curve card and then add whatever credit to that and use apple pay.

Works great for me with Barclaycard.

If you're using Apple Pay, what's the advantage of using Curve as a middleman? Interested in case I missed something.

Looks like an unnecessary step and as @Arthur says, you lose the benefit of Section 75 and the insurance that's included with Barclaycard.

I looked at Curve as my phone doesn't have NFC (I've had it since before Google Pay was a thing!) and decided the convenience wasn't worth losing the benefits of the cards I use.

Thanks all - I know I could get a credit card from my bank and it would work with Apple Pay but I don’t use the credit function at present so I want a reward card primarily.

The reward card companies don’t seem to be too into using Apple Pay! I’ll look at Tesco but of all the supermarkets that’s the one I tend not to use :(

The Amex cards look good - has most places started taking them yet or is it still as common for them not to be taken in shops?

What reward cards have you found that do not do apple pay?

My Asda one didn't - they use Creation finance as a back end.

I was about to get the Amazon credit card / reward card, but a lot of the reviews are saying it doesn't yet work with Apple Pay. Hopefully someone will tell me otherwise!

Very true however 99.9% the reason I am using apple pay is because what I am buying is below £100 anyway and for conviniance so S75 wouldn't apply anyway.

As said I only use them for low cost purchases, I have only every had one refund which went fine. Curve does have its uses though carrying one card which I can switch on the fly. Also, "go back in time" is very handy if you do use it and want to switch the card you actually pay with. Granted the £5 charge is a bit silly but I didn't pay it and assuming they are still doing £5 free if you join via referral?

Because my Barclaycard doesn't work with google/apply pay and I want the option to use it for low value puchases.

I'm not a curve lover or anything but it overcomes a hurdle the OP had, I use it on my Garmin watch with Garmin pay as basically no banks support it and then have it on my phone via google pay as well. Again it's low value purchases only anything above £100 I use my 27 month 0% credit card. It does the job I need it to do.

My Barclaycard cashback card works fine with Apple Pay as does my wife’s card on the same account. Barclays held out for ages as they wanted people to use B-Pay instead but that changed a while ago.

What happens when you try and add your Barclaycard to Apple Pay?
