Advice on standing desks wanted please

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a standing desk (with motor) for home working, so does anyone have any recommendations? The main one I'm considering at the moment is the Yo-Yo DESK PRO 2, so it would be very useful to get some feedback.

I bought a Flexispot E6W about a year ago after some back problems, to allow me to work at home more. Nice and sturdy, can fit your own top (I fitted an old desk top). Been a godsend since lock down.

 

I went with the 3 section as I'm 6'4" ish and needed the extra height it can go to. Get one that has pre-sets for heights. I have a much more expensive desk at work but the lack of pre-sets is a pain - I have post-its and marks on the wall to get to the right heights

 

One thing to consider is the top needs to be pretty solid. The cheaper tops you can get from IKEA won't work as they aren't solid and therefore you can't fasten them on very well. A bit of worktop will work well - I'm planning to do this on mine soon.

 

Avoid the desks with a supporting cross beam at a low level, you can't sit under them very well at "normal" height, a colleague is forever banging his shins on his.

 

The other issue is you might want your computer to to be fixed to the desk minimising the cables being snagged when raised / lowered.

 

If you've not worked at a standing desk, I find it more productive but a bit more tiring. Certainly has helped with my back.
