At our Primary School we use Wonde for SSO to Google. This works well but the only problem is with our generic Google accounts such as office@. Wonde will not recognise these as they don't link to users in SIMS. When it comes to SSO it fails as the Office@ does not correspond to a Wonde user from SIMS.

Wonde have suggested to us that other schools create dummy accounts in SIMS that can then be matched to these generic accounts.

Does anyone know if there are any consequences of doing this in SIMS or is it fine to do?

untick the "include in census box" and you're fine.

I've got about a dozen dummy accounts in the SIMS for various reasons.

Any ideas what I need as a minimum? I have created a record with name, dob and employment start date. Record appears in current staff records but doesnt get pulled in by Wonde (which is our 3rd party app).

as a minimum for wonde to pull the user? not being a wonde user I can't answer with any authority.

When you say Generic accounts - do you mean a number of staff are sharing an account for SSO?

Sorry to drag up an old thread.

We need a dummy pupil user in SIMS. We have created it but its not showing on the portal we are testing. I saw above someone said about don't include in census, where is this option please?

The 'don's include in census' option is only for staff. All single reg or dual main pupils get included in your census and sent to the LA with the automated data collection.

That is what Guest Pupil is for:

"Children recorded as ‘G’ – guest (not a pupil at the school) will not be included in the census return."
