lmrogers Posted June 18, 2020 Posted June 18, 2020 Morning, I have a very strange problem which is driving me mad! On of our deputy heads has a HP ENVY Notebook 13-ab0XX and randomly the webcam seems to disconnect from the computer, even though it is built in! I have gone through and updated all drivers, run through the HP Support Assistant and made sure everything there was updated. Lierally everything I could think of. There is no pattern to this problem and it will just randomly start working again. When it is not working though I cannot even see it in Device Manager. Any ideas on this one would be great! Thanks!
gmonks Posted June 18, 2020 Posted June 18, 2020 Make sure it isn't being turned off by a Hotkey ef Fn+F10 the other thing to look at is to see if the cable has come loose presumably at the top of the screen. Somebody I know had this recently, they opened it up and found the cable had come loose.
DrBeaker Posted June 18, 2020 Posted June 18, 2020 Hotkey issue, check it's enabled in BIOS, any weird power-saving issues perhaps? Or possibly faulty unit/hardware
