techie17 Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 Hi I’m really new to SCCM and I want to what the best way is to view the installation status of a particular software package on the stations it’s deployed to? Also how do I check the AV status of all the machines? Is there a view that displays this or do I need to run a report? Just trying to get my head around the whole of SCCM! Thanks

Thanks SCCM is a massive product and requires a lot of time to get your head around. I've been using various flavours of it for the last ten years or so and even now, I can't honestly say that I know every nook and cranny. If you can get the budget, it's well worth going on a training course. I've been on earlier versions of that course with that company and I can honestly say that it is excellent. Guides on the internet are all very well (Windows Noobs is a good one) but sometimes there really is no substitute for instructor led learning. That said, to view the status of a deployment of an application, go to the Monitoring workspace and click on Deployments. Search for your application and click on it. A pie chart will appear with the number of successful and unsuccessful deployments shown. You can then click on the View Status link to get a more detailed breakdown of what's going on. To view AV status, go to the Monitoring workspace again and go to Security. Expand Endpoint Protection Status and click on System Center Endpoint Protection Status. You'll get a detailed breakdown of what's going on in there.

In terms of software deployment, if i have already deployed a package and i then need to uninstall it to install a newer version (in our case Clicker 6 to Clicker 8) whats the best way of doing this? Would i change the current package install parameters to uninstall and then create the new package? How would i order it so that it uninstalls the clicker 6 first and then install the new version?
techie17 Posted June 24, 2020 Author Posted June 24, 2020 I have just set an an application to uninstall but when going to the monitoring work space and viewing the application the status reads as 0% is that correct? The application has uninstalled but i would have thought it would show as 100% for compliance? Thanks
