Afternoon All, We have taken over a primary school which is a CC4 school ( for now) We have not had a CC4 school for quiet a while! does any one have a copy of the instructions for connecting a new computer to the CC4 via the smart client build way. i have logged in to rm to get the instructions but my permissions have gone a long time ago!! unless any one knows of a newer way these days? thanks Martin

ah well its been soo long since i did anything on cc4 , i remember you could either buy cc4 ready computers and i think you could also pxe boot as long as the drivers were imported but i remember a smart build where you ran a exe from the server on to the client and it added it that way including all packages etc

Try building one using pxe, adding drivers to the build area is quite simple, it should be setup but some of the services maybe off.

You can Smart Client a PC - But its also worth checking on the RM Support sites if they have a driver pack for the PC you are trying to build. If they do - Install this on your CC4 First Server, and then just recreate your build disk and away you go.

 

If not them the smart client files are located on the first server’s D drive.

 

It’s always best to build from PXE if you can.

If you contact RM they should be able to help you with this. We're still an RM school in the Midlands and they've been fab with us. Worked with us on new hardware, drivers etc that haven't been purchased from them.

Some fantastic engineers who really know their stuff too
